The University Christmas Greetings That Have Caught our Eye

Christmas is nearly here and hopefully so is your festive out of office message. Tis’ the season to be jolly so we thought this month we’d pick five university Christmas greetings that have caught our eye. Take five and enjoy with your favourite festive drink.

#1 The University of Alabama

We loved the references to the all-too-relatable virtual world we are currently living in and the involvement of President, Stuart R Bell. Wait for the ‘you are on mute’ gag – something we are all familiar with!

#2 University of Aberdeen

Many university Christmas messages reflect on the crazy year we’ve had. While this video highlights the difficulties, it reminds us that we can find hope and joy with a simple message.

“It’s been a tough year but we hope you’ve managed to find moments of light throughout & will use the holidays as a time to reconnect or recharge. Here's to a bright 2021. #ABDNfamily.”

#3 University of Stirling

The star of this video is the Stirling Squirrel, the University’s Mascot, who we’ve discovered makes regular appearances on campus. We particularly like the Love Actually film reference and we’re a big fan of cuddly toys as you’ll often find us giving them away at conferences.

#4 Anglia Ruskin University

Anglia Ruskin have involved their community in spreading the Christmas joy. Inviting recipients of Honorary Doctorates, staff and alumni to share their well wishes. So far they have included Richard Madeley, Stephen Fry, Griff Rhys-Jones and fashion accessories designer Anya Hindmarch. ARU newsfeeds are full of festive cheer with an effective use of their hashtag #ARUXmas. You get a real sense of community and belonging.

#5 University of Sunderland in London

Oh how we want to believe that there are mini snowmen running around every campus when the doors close for the Christmas break!

We want to take this opportunity to wish you a Merry Christmas. Make sure you enjoy your well-deserved break. We look forward to sharing more news and comment pieces with you in the New Year.
